i just put one in my car, 221/221 .558/.558 112lsa and i was wondering how your car ran right upon completion? i started mine up just fine, and let it run about 15 min, changed the oil and then let run about 5 more min. then the next day i was going to drive it to town to get my exhaust put on since it was just open headers, and after about 3 miles it started running like chit and did not want to stay running. i guess what i am asking is do you have to have a tune immidiatly after the install, or should you be able to drive it to the tuners? i also put on long tubes and a lid and filter if that makes much difference.

The open headers are what will make the car run like crap. o2's will read wrong.

Bingo, and it will be even more present since your not tuned for it to begin with.

i hauled the car to the exhaust shop and had my y pipe put on, so now should it be able to run without a tune since it no longer has open headers? don't get me wrong, i am going to get it tuned, but it is just really running crappy

yes, it came on and started flashing after a couple of miles of driving. and also it doesn't have rear o2 sensors, and i took the air injuection, or whatever it is called off too.

When I first installed my T1, I just drilled out the hole in the throttle body a little bit and it ran fine. It took a few miles for the computer to relearn, but after that, it ran fine. I ran it untuned for a couple of weeks with no issues.
