Default 04 LS6 cam 370 rwhp/370 tq

I am making this post for people who search on info about the cam, and for those that say it won't make any power. I have full bolt-ons minus ud pulley.
The car was running rich towards the higher rpms, and by leaning it out .3-.4 more it should see 5-10 more hp. Along with the ud pulley, low to mid 380's is possible. Thats better than some of the bigger cams I have seen. Mike(WS6FirebirdTA00) did the tuning and has my graph, hopefully he can get it on here.

here is the graph guys, WOT looked to be going to 12.7-12.9 at higher rpms, the car leaned out 0.3 from the first to last run in the peak power range and picked up 10/10. Plus I know there is some left in the timing table as they are sort of half assed right now. I havent messed with them to see what makes power and what does.

good question lol, he never dynoed before. I think there is still power left in the bolt ons as his TB could use more porting, he didnt take much off of it and his cat back piping is bent so horrible I assume it woudl get more power from that, there are like 3 90* bends, its 2.5" piping, and it goes into a T at the tail pipe section lol

This alone isn't saying much. I mean if you were making 360rwhp with bolt-ons then you gained 10rwhp. Not a big gain. I know not many make that much with bolt-ons but you get the point. Nice numbers anyhow. If my engine was fresh instead of being 108k miles old. I would be willing to bet I would be in the low 400's for sure with just a 224 cam but ~390 isn't bad I guess for now.

haha damn right, i bet its down on compression too with all that **** on your bumper lol

i could honestly see the car goig 380 hp pretty easy, more dyno time to play wtih the timing and what not would have definately found some more power

Looks like a stout combo. I typically like the idea of reaching 350tq a bit sooner but, for a 'stock' gm cam... Not bad at all.

Nice tuning Mike. Don't know if you left much on HOSS's table to gain from additional tuning. Any idea what the SAE numbers were? With a 50 degree dyno day, they may drop a bit.

thanks yeah im sure the sae numbers were prob about 7 lower or so (didnt look on his) mine droped 11/11 and another guy that dynoed 230 range dropped only 5/5 so i figure he is in between there somewhere. the car stiff runs rich on him and gets better with the more fuel you pull. but then again how his exhaust is set up might be hurting numbers, the stock cat back flows better than this setup i think lol. i just wish we got more tunes on it, those changes were with one log and i really wanted to mess with the timing so more but i guess we will do that with the next cam haha

I remember back in the day when my bro had his 02 SOM WS6 M6 he made (if my memory serves me corectly) 383hp/373tq w/ ls6 H/C. not bad considering it had stock manifolds and only lid, ORY, and a cut out.

My old LS6 cam setup made 376rwhp @ 361rwtq SAE with all the bolt ons. It pulled good up top but it's lowend was not much more over the stock cam until 4500rpms. I swapped in my current TR224 and gained 23rwhp @ 24rwtq at peak. The TR224 power under the curve blew away the LS6 cam as at some rpms ranges the TR224 was up 30rwtq over the LS6.
