Ten over bore on a 98?
I was wondering if it would be safe to go with a 3.908 piston in a 98 LS1. I search for it, and most people say 3.905 is as big as you can go, but is .003" really going to make a difference? Thats only .0015" bigger if you look at it as how deep the extra size will cut into the cylinder wall. I would like to know, because I already have the 3.908 pistons, and a 98 model block.

You're not supposed to. The OEM sleeve looks thicker up top, but if you look at it from the bottom side, it is pretty thin. All that said and out of the way, a few of us have still done it. I checked with several forum members before doing it and they didnt (and still havent had any problems).

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that. I didn't follow the rules and over bored as did Sam98WS6 but neither of us are planning on adding a power adder (NOS, BLower, SC). If you are planning to go with a power adder, then I would suggest that you stay in the .004 hone or get a different block.
