Default Aggressive idle cams...I need specs!

I'm looking for a cam for my 02 SS and I want the most aggressive sounding cam I can get. Any ideas? Specs? I heard a video of a TSP Magic Stick Cam that had a crazy idle but it didn't have any other info on the cam(http://video.ls1tech.com/hottestvide...C1ED08BA33.htm) No duration, lift, nothing. Please help.

Its an M6. Other than nitrous, this is going to be the last mod until I pay it off. So I want this cam set up for what I have now. The rest of my mods are in my sig. It is my daily driver, but I'm not too worried about drivability...most of my miles are highway.

Well, I just installed MS3, PRC LS6 heads, yank 3800 stall, and 4.10 gear in my 98 z28. BTW the MS3 specs are .603/.609 237/242 113LSA you can also choose a 114LSA which would idle more smooth. It is very lopey and it feels stronger now than when I was sprayin 150 shot on a stock motor. I dont have any number to back it up, but just the "seat of the pants" feel is enough to speak for its self. But I am down right now waitin on a tranny

Is there anything other than springs and retainers that I would NEED to put in to make sure this MS3 works the way its supposed to?? And what type of springs would you reccomend for this cam?

You would want to upgrade to hardened push rods as well.Buy what ever springs the manufacturer suggest.Alot of people go with the Patriot golds.

i would also get a dual timing chain and a ported ls6 oil pump as well, im thinking of doing the ms3 or f13 myself, kinda leaning towards the ms3 because of the results gm muscle has gotten at the track.

I run a TSP 242/248 on a 114lsa with PRC dual springs and hardened pushrods, TSP TD's with !cats/emissions through Sweet Thunder mufflers...very, very wicked sounding, sounds like a nitro/prostock motor with mufflers.....a stout cam that pulls incredibly hard and can be driven daily with no problems

in a nutshell, yes.

get almost any cam above 228* duration on a 110 lsa and it will sound pretty mean.

if you just want noise, get a t-rex and set it to idle around 1,200...that will rattle windows for sure!

like the guy that posted with only 222/222. That sounded pretty good for that size of a cam.

Never choose a cam based on sound. You will end up over camming the motor, and it will be a turd down low. I've seen it happen time and again. Always choose a cam based on the type of driving you'll be doing, gears, compression, etc and how high you're willing to spend the motor. Almost any good cam will lope noticeably, and there are ways to get that desirable lope without going with a big cam. The obvious way is simply a lower idle, say around 650-700 with an M6 car, instead of around 900 alot of people end up doing. Also, a 224/224 cam or similar size will still lope pretty well with a low idle and be ground on a 112 or lower LSA.

I would imagine 370+ CID. That is a stroker profile. BTW your looking for lots of overlap in a cam. I would get one that sounded up to your specs, but not one that just sounded good and was a POS when it comes to performance.

My T-rex at 1200 sounds like a car thats idling to fast. Put it at 800-900 and watch the car shake. I love the way it idles, and with the right gear, you can daily drive the **** out of it.

Yep - that was mine. You do NOT have to go with a huge cam to get it to sound like you want. I have the sound I want and none of the "draw backs" of a larger cam. True you will not get as much peak horsepower as the bigger cams but the power in my car comes on when you will use it the most often.
