408 owners, quick question...
I know that the idea of gas mileage isn't a top priority. However, im in the works of doing a small engine swap and am interested what most of you are getting in mileage.
I drive fairly lite, and with a well tuned pcm, what might ya'll feel i should get? Im hoping for at least a 20mph on the highway but in the city, is 15mph asking for to much?
This will be in a 4k lb sedan, t-56 and lite on the go pedal...
thanks!!
2.08/1.60 heads, 244/248 114 cam, tune is almost perfect, still working on that and all of this through a 6spd.

Last weekend was the 1st time I payed attn to mine, I got little over 18mpg driving on normal roads, with about 30% of that being stop go at red lights, stop signs, etc. Thats not gunning on it, just normal everday driving. On the estate Ill bet it gets around 25mpg with the crusie. Ill know that next weekend.

thanks, just wanted to see what was the norm.
Mods, thanks for the move!!
Anyways, im just interested in seeing since there are larger motors out there that are in stock trim and make good power and decent mileage, i cant see why a 408 couldn't make good use of fuel. That is, if you dont step on it.

th400.... what stall lock-up/nonlock-up setup do you have? Gear ratio? race weight?
not bad for a 3 spd!
