Default Egr

hey guys i got a problem i installed a cam in my car but i also took my intake off to paint it anyway when i put it all back together it sounds like my egr is ticking or popping or somthing only sometimes anyway maybe if one of the vac lines to it came off when i was installing the intake and its making it do this and also ive already talked to some people about this but the engine shakes quit a bit at idle maybe that has somthing to do with it also anyway if anyone can help plz let me know thanx

You sure it's coming from the EGR? Do you have headers? Could it be coming from the smog pump lines on your manifolds?

Well if it's not the egr or air...my guess is that it's related to the valvetrain. If you screwed up a vacuum line, it would be a whistle or a ticking hiss, I've never heard one "popping."

Depends how loud it is, most LS1s with a cam and even stock motor have a faint tick. If you're sitting in the car with the windows up and the radio on low and can hear it, I would start to get worried. It could be a loose rocker or collapsed lifter. Any SES codes, terrible idle, power loss?
