what oil are you using now? someone on here admitted to using mobil1 5w20 which is basically water.
I've heard of a few people going from 0w30 german castrol syntec to 5w40 Amsoil European formula and hearing a reduction in slap. Thats a change I also am going to make once the new heads are on.

another reason im holding back on the heads is because there are alot of new heads coming out later in the year and i would hate to drop the coin now when i coulda waited six more months for a better head.
i was gonna go with either ET perfomance 5.3 or livernois stage 2 ls2/6 heads milled down close to 11.1.
i plan on keaping this car(camaro ss) for a very long time and this the second time im building her up so im gonna do it right this time and be done with her so i can move on to another toy(maybe new camaro or challenger or even wrangler), so im willing to wait a little on the heads.

Yes it does....my piston slap went from slightly noticeable to horribly noticeable when I switched from 10w30 to 0w40. Switched back my next oil change and it returned to where it was before.
