224/224 112 or 114
Looking to get a cam but was told a 112 LSA really doesnt make much diff than a 114 LSA besides sounding a little more agressive and possibly my car dying out at startup. Just wanted to know what you guys thought since you cant trust everything you hear. As of now im going with a 114 unless there is any reason to switch to a 112.
Thanks
Thanks

My 112 sounds pretty dang mean at idle and I have no drivability issues with the converter/tuning. I wouldnt be able tell you the diff. between a 114 because I've never had one in the car, you can actually 'feel' the power kick in around 3k and it still has good street manners.

Listen to what WickedC5 said about being able to get in the power band and to the peak sooner with the 112. The 224 won't have the huge overlap that'd give you trouble tuning the 112, even with an A4, although the post above about A4=114 and M6=112 is a good rule of thumb.

Go with the 112 thats what I have in a m6 speed and love it. Makes good power down low. If you have a auto then go with 114 it will work better with a stall. Also my car never dies out. "even with a bad tune it shouldent die out." Hope that helps you out.

Mines Costing me $1700 with the labor, dyno tune, and tax included which i think is a good deal, new belts, SLP underdrive pulley and replace all fluids.

I find it really hard to trust a stranger working on my car. When all possible I will do everything myself even if I curse the whole time.!!! Like when I installed headers by myself in my garage. lol... When I had my gears installed 2 weeks ago, I was worried that the mechanics were goin to **** sumthing up...like a worried parent....haha

I felt that way until I finally found a shop that really knew what they were doing, and did it a lot. You must be able to find a good shop in Texas for an F-Body... It's practically the F-Body State, isn't it?
