Default 650 HP Engine Masters 427 Darton MID

It has been a while since I did the block for Steve Dulcich's magazine articles but he got the engine up and running on Westech's dyno. Basically a Darton MID tm 427 with AFR 225 heads, FAST intake and TB with solid roller cam and dry sump, pumping out 650 horsepower and 600 ft./lbs. of torque. Attached are a couple of pages from the Engine Masters spring issue. The May Corvette Fever magazine has another article on the same build. Their dyno results will be in next month's issue.

What made the engine capable of sealing the great horsepower and fantastic torque output was the dimensional stabilty of the Darton MID tm wet liners. Westech stated they recorded some of the lowest blowby figures ever seen on their dyno. Of course the sleeve installation has to be done correctly to see these low numbers. At least one can see what the potential is with a properly prepped block and well coordinated engine build.

Good stuff Steve....Do you know a good machinist who can install the sleeves??

That motor was excellent....as you said, shows the potential of a well executed combination.

And it has to be installed correctly so you don't end up with a cracked block But it's good, I have one of yours now. Good job!
