HS rebuilt stockers or HS rollers?
I have both. I had the HS rollers on and had some Valvetrain issues. I replaced them with the HS rebuilt stockers and the issue was subdued some on the street, but on the dyno it was still there just not as bad. I've installed new springs, new better fitting retainers, and shimmed them to .050 of coil bind. Since I'll have plenty of pressure this time (approx 425-430 and 165 on the seat) should I use the full roller HS rockers or the lighter stocker HS rebuilt rockers? Don't want to even have to think about valve train again! Thanks for the input fellas!

I've had both also.
Here's an idea. The cheap Comp 918 springs are so good at controlling bad harmonics and valve float. If you've read about how they (Comp Cams) tests to find out valve train weaknesses you might give those springs a chance. You may be queasy about not having a dual spring for insurance reasons, but I haven't heard of many failures with the 918's.
$170 918's and reuse the stocker modified rockers. Those springs can handle .625 of lift no problem.
I've abused mine for about 10k miles and I'm not even going to THIINK about changing to another spring for 20k more. After that I'm going to put 918's back in again.
Eigther way I'd dump the HS rockers. They ARE heavy. I had mine off twice and the roller bearing on one didn't seem "right". Also, 2-3 of the rockers had a slight binding, or sticking issue in the fulcrums. I ditched them right there. They may be Ok for 1st gen engines, but I've heard and seen bad things on the gen 3 motors. -Joshua

Thanks for the info! The 918 is a GREAT spring, just doesn't have near enough seat or open pressure for me, even when shimmed close to bind. I run the G5X4 and it's pretty healthy. I've always used them with the smaller stuff though.
