Default decision on a cam, f14 maybe

my car is down for a while with a bad transmission and im picking some mods out so when i have the car up and running i'll have them to be installed. my mods right now are 3000 tci stall, stock gears, LTs, ory, cutout, flp trans., flowmaster catback and slp 214/222 115 cam. on 18x9 street tire i ran high 12s.

when i get the trans fixed i plan on having a LS6 intake, 4.10 gears, 26" et drags, maybe a 4000 stall, and im thinking the f14 on a 112 cam. the car will be friday/sat night meet car and a track car so im not worried about daily driving. im sure with the new setup ill be in the 11's. is the f14 what im looking for or would another cam be best suited for my setup? thanks

In my research I have heard a lot of good things about the F-14... It was a little much for my setup so I got the F-13. I am in no way an expert but just have been reading a lot about the F-14 as well.

Recomendation: If you have questions about a transmission call Zack up at Gearstar. He has great advice to give.

232/234 .598/.598 114LSA sounds like a good option for your setup. Have you thought about the Torquer V.2? You are going to be in the same ballpark with that one anyway.

if its a track weekend car Id go REAL big personally. TREX, G5x4, MS3, F14 would be my minimum.

P.S. I have a F14 in my DD and I love it. it is VERY streetable with a good tune no problems at all

I just ordered a F14 112 today, did A LOT of searching and grabed as many dyno graphs as i could from the cams i was looking at and this one seemed to put down the most amount of power through out the rpm range.

But i woud look at the f14, TRAK, MS3, G5x3. From the graphs i could find the f14 seemed to put down more power then the torquer which is almost the same size at 0.50 lift(but its not going to be huge).

Just use the search a lot, and i found it really usefull to pm the users of the cam and get their thoughts on it and a dyno sheet if they had it. That why i was able to grab all the dyno sheets and overlay them all.

Since it has been broughten up...is the MS3 with a 114 LSA really a rough enough cam to be compared to the TRAK and the G5x4? I've heard some people say it is an ok cam for a daily driver and have heard others say that it is way too rough. Just looking for opinions and such.

All in the tune bro. Yeah, it is not a mild cam on a 114 LSA. You have someone that knows their tuning stuff you can daily drive just about any setup out there within reason.

A solid 402....I would just go sleeved if you were going to that extreme anyway.

The f14 is a great choice especially for a DD car. I have it in my Z06 and it is awesome.

I think I just saw this in the other thread...

And yeah. I don't mean to sabotage this thread with my nonsense and endless dreaming.

I thought the ms3 was on a 113?

F14 is a good choice, I was going to go with it.
But the MS3 will like my juice much better.

Glad i could help you out Justin......also glad to see you went with the F14 instead of the Torquer and trust me you will love it.....the performance as well as the sound.
