Custom grind cam
Going to go with a custom cammotion grind cam right at 226/226 and .580/.580 lift on a 112 lsa. What kind of numbers do you guys think a mild cam like this can pull? Also I don't see many people do it but would you recommend changing the timing chain while we are in there? Motor has 43k on it now. Thanks in advance for any input.
One more thing, I read alot about people having quite a bit of trouble with cammotion grinds (i.e. FMS) awhile back and was wondering if this had been solved? Thanks again.

I have a cam motion cam in my car right now and put down 397 rwhp/ 395 rwtq. The numbers are 223/226 .579/.578 114lsa. All I had done was that, Underdrive pulley, Hooker LT's w/ ORY, cutout, and K&N intake. No LS6 or TB. You would be an idiot if you didnt swith to a double roller timing chain and an ported LS6 oil pump. Just my 2 cents.

what is the GM part number for the ls6 oil pump? I guess I never read that to many guys changed these as well with their cam installs. What exactly do you mean by ported when it comes to the oil pump?

look at either Texas Speed Performance (TSP) or thunder racing's website and you can see both of the items. They are roughly $100-$125 each. The ported oil pump(as was explained to me) simply just pumps more oil quicker. It can get more oil to the valvetrain quicker.

I was implying that he would be an idiot if he did not change out the parts to something stronger while he is already in there. BTW, I had no problems what so ever with my double timing chain. I just bolted it right up. What brand were you guys using that you had to use a dremel or shim it? DAMN!, thats a hell of a deal on the ls2 timing chain. What are those rated at (stress, hp, etc.)? I am assuming somewhere around the 450hp mark?

I was checking TSP and they have an option for a single timing chain LS6 and then a set of timing chains LS6. I'm wondering why we need more than one?
Let me guess there are two chains in there somewhere? )
