Default lunati 395 stroker

Does any one know about this stroker, its for a 97 c5. what power it puts out or is 383 better. I told my frined that his 97 block is only good for .005 over and that the 395 is to much for the cylinder walls. for engine guys help.

395 has a 4.125" stroke and 3.905" bore. It can be done, but the rod angle is not ideal. If not set up properly it can cause nightmares for oiling issues. So, I wouldn't go over a 4" stroke.

I am doing mine on a 97 Vette block. I had a mad one time hook up and even then, I think a 402 from one of the sponsors could be bought cheaper.

I had to clearance the block so the rod bolts wouldn't hit, but thats about it. Everything has been right on. It was balanced by them and everything has been right on, every step of the way.

I'm tuning a friend's Vette with a 395ci stroker right now.. they made sick power, his pulls hard from 2000-7000 rpm with ease.

I agree

Here's a post I had a while back about the stroker kits, https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ht=stroker+kit, I came to the conclusion that it is cheaper to build a 402 or 408 than a stroker 346 and you have a brand new block and all. It's up to you but the 402's and 408's look like a better choice.

The old tune did 489/471 I believe, I'm going to see if I can't get a little more out of it.. right now i've just been trying to get it to drive well mostly.

It has a Fast 90mm intake and had a TPIS 90mm TB that was hell to tune, now it has a LS2 TB and it looks like it is going to work better. I still have some left to tune.

Hey, do you have a build sheet for that 395? Do you know how much money he paid? I am looking at building a 395 as well and am intrested in how much power you get out of it. Also, do you think with some different parts he could go any higher? Thanks in advance.

I don't have any of the specs really, just little stuff.. and I don't know what he paid.. I do know it was the Lunati rotating assembly.

IMO, I think the car would make a little more power with stepped headers and the FAST intake port matched, a little more compression wouldn't hurt either. It screams as is though.

What are stepped headers? I hate to admit that I don't know much about engine stuff yet, plan on getting some schooling for it when I get back.

Stepped headers use 2 different sizes on the primaries.. like this
