Default "hot cam" guys come in

I'm going to be sending off for my tune and was wondering...what do you guy's have your idle set at? I still want that great lope but I don't want it dying/stalling on me all the time. any recommendations? thanks

Mine was set at 850.It still had plenty of lope.

about what is the idle set at for a stock ls1 with the stock cam?

It was either 500 or 550.Those few extra rpm make a big difference.After my car was tuned,it ran almost like stock.If you wanna call it that.The only issue with the cam was everyonce in awhile you'll get surging/bucking.I would just manually drop it down a gear since it only did it under 35 mph.

after the tune...did the cam really wake the car up.. did you ever dyno it?

Mine idles nice @800 for over 5 years,butI have M6. A4's are a little more temperamental !

With headers/off road y-pipe and the stock ls1 intake I put down 350/350.With every bolt on except an electric water pump and with ported 98 heads,1.8 rockers and a 3500 stall I did 380/380.My car just dynos lower than most of the other "internet" hotcam numbers,but mines an auto as well.It pulls hard on the street though.

I pulled out the hotcam a couple of days ago and went with an off the shelf 228-230 Comp grind.I'm getting it retuned tomorrow to see what it does.

Sorry, can't help w/ sound clip, but I can tell you it has a nice little lope, if thats what you are looking for.

I'll double check, but on my A4 the idle is set to about 750.

any of you guys ever run a hotcam on a stock stall converter? i might get oen for really cheap locally and might throw it in with a set of mac mids this summer but i might not be able to afford the stall for a few months
