Default Here we go!! More comp with 408

Ok, my car is going into the shop tommorrow to fix a head gasket leak and while it's apart i will have my heads milled some more and also retard the cam 4 degrees as well.
here's a list.
AFR 225 69cc will be 66cc also going from a 041 felpro to a 040 Cometic head gasket.
Wiseco pistons 2 1/2cc reliefs w/ lateral gas ports.
Cam is a 253 257 644/645 112+4 Will now be set straight up.
All other mods in sig
Car made 513rwhp 485rwtq with about 10 miles on the motor and not a full all out tune. Also the made peak power around 5700rpm and stayed over 500hp till 6700rpm. I think with a cam this size it should peak later and is the reason for the cam retard

What do you think i will gain with the added comp and retarding the cam?
Thanks Shawn

Well, you'll raise SCR from 11:6 to 12:0 and only lower DCR a touch, so that should help some. Hopefully your tuner won't have a problem with upper rpm detonation with that much SCR and pump gas. The compression should be good for 5 or so, and maybe the same for the cam in the upper rpm's.

I'd look for a 530-535rwhp number this time and torque that is about the same. It might soften a tad down low, just because your ICL was so tight, but the added compression will help offset that.

I would think the added compression would more than offset the cam retarding. I also hope to get gains accross the board as well As far as tuning goes i might run it with a couple of gallons of 116 race gas per tankfull since the car is not a daily driver. I would be happy with 535rwhp {for alittle while}
