Default how to attain 11:1 to 11.5:1 compression

i want to try and port stock LS1 5.7 or 5.3 heads myself before i do the 402
(or L-92) stroker. i want to get the TSP 233/239 cam package. i will use 2.00/1.55 in either head ( 5.7 or 5.3).

1- how to get to 11 to 11.5 compression? how much to mill the heads wether 5.7 or 5.3? what are the chambers cc in a 5.7 and 5.3? so that i'm save from the valves hitting pistons

2- what gasket thickness is needed with stock 346 short block?

3- btw what is the cc size of the stock 346 pistons?

4- what heads will flow better the 5.7 or 5.3 regardless with the 5.3 head i will have more compression?

thanks.

salam Abdullah,

Stock Cam I guess?
To achieve higher compression you can reduce gasket thickness or mill (shave) the heads.
A 5.7 LS1 head is ~66 cc and a 5.3 ~62 cc

Let us say you run stock .054 gasket then you would need a ~ 60> 61cc head to achieve ~ 11:1 (depends on you piston deck height position)

mashkoor PREDATOR-Z. how about custom pistons to acheive 11 to 11.5 compression, will i be save from the valves hitting the pistons without milling the heads and using the GM stock head gaskets.

race-prep told me if i specify the cam specs to the pistons manufacturer then the pistons manufacturer can make pistons the will clear the valves with this specific cam.
