I think the local shops charge around ~$650 for just labor, but if you can turn a wrench and are confident in your work, just do it yourself!

I've never done it, but I say figure it out with a few days off, and save the money for the tune.

Going rate is 500 for springs and cam around here (I thought it was $1000 but apparently I was wrong) I did mine myself and saved the money for a tune. I was 19 when I did it with nothing more spectaular than air tools.

I paid $200 for installation, did not need to upgrade the springs or anything though. But with of cam and valvetrain would be $400.00

You just need the right tools and know how. My friend is putting mine in for me for $100. I just stand there and hand him tools.

My friend just paid $175 for cam and springs install. But the usual going price at a shop is $350 - $500.

Mine was just under $200.

Cam install was performed by me and a friend at his house: $0

Repair to A/C cooling line that we "tweaked" during install, with labor & coolant: $192.44

Just remember, you can save a lot of money by doing it yourself, but just be careful not to create new problems, LOL!
