Default how to accomplish 11 or more compression safely with 5.7 LS1 head?

i want to port a set of LS heads myself. the 5.3 heads might be a little difficult to get them here in Kuwait but i can get the 5.7 LS1 heads easily. how safe i can go in milling the 5.7 heads and using stock 2.00"/1.55" valves maybe using 0.030" or 0.040" head gaskets and stock 346 short block (stock pistons). can i do 11 compression or more with no P to V issues? the cam is the latest TSP 233/239.

btw, what is the cc of the stock LS1 346 pistons?

thanks for help.

Without milling and knotching the pistons with that cam, I don't think you'll be able to get that high of compression. I'm running LS6 heads milled to .030, with cometic .040, -2cc on the pistons, G5X-2 232/240= 11:1 compression.
Use this and play with it and see if you can.

You might have to get some pistons to get that ratio without milling. OR....and don't do this or take me seriously. Do't use a head gasket.

thanks for the replies.

i have a question : do the stock pistons in 346 LS1 get out of the hole? i.e. higher than the block deck? if so by how much?

thanks

Yes, they are out of the hole stock, typically .007-.010.
