I don't know if that is possible, if it is i bet it would be a bitch.I'm guessing you would have to remove everything from the front of the car. So if you are going to take your motor out just find a lift and drop it out the bottom like everyone else.

I did mine from the top. Tranny and all. I had the heads off when I removed it. I also put it back in the top. It went back in complete with the manifold, valve covers and tranny on.
I had the front up on jack stands, and I had to drop it in at a sharp incline.
Here it is coming out.

I've done it both way's, and from the top is easier!! Haven't tried putting engine and tranny in together?? No prob's with this??? Might put it back together.

Here are the pics of the pull from the TOP! Took the motor and tranny out at the same time. No real issues..... Total time to get to this point was 5-6 hours of work. Not too bad....
