Default Need some help here...smoking after cam install?

I put in a F10 (228 .576" 112) with an LS6 oil pump, LS2 timing chain, 918s with titanium retainers and I am using the stock pushrods for now (will swap in 7.425s).

I also put on a set of QTP headers with a used ORY. I started it yesterday and again toay and there seems to be a lot of smoke coming from the collector of the y pipe (cat back not installed yet). I had the usual smoke coming from under the hood from the fingerprints burning off, but that is done now.

So, my questions are....does QTP coat the inside of the headers with something or could my valve seals possibly be messed up? I havent seen a problem using the 918s without changing the seals. The car did not smoke before and I've let it run until the engine was hot and it has not gone away yet.

Ideas?

Did you knick a bearing taking out the old cam?

what color is the smoke???If its blue, dark blue, then its oil.If its black smoke then you probably just need a tune..its probably running pretty rich at idle with the cam...

I've done 4 cam swaps so I know to be careful about the bearings...I've never had this problem with any of them.

The some has a slight blueness to it, but it doesn't smell like other burning oil I've smelled...I did put in Mobil 1 so maybe that's why?

theres also the possibility that running without the y-pipe is contaminating the 02 sensors with too much free oxygen,if the 02 sensors are near the collector outlet, the get the y-pipe on and it should help a lot.

then i would pull a valve cover and a valve spring or two and check the valve seals out for anything unusual, other then that,i really dont know what it could be.

tomorrow i am going to run the car for a while. im going to disconnect the pcv and see if there is any change. the plugs tell me it's not the seals or rings.

plus, im pretty sure the smoke starts when it gets hot and if it were seals or rings it would do it right away. it's not dark smoke like an old taxi, but it's definately coming out the collector of the ypipe.

Seems fine today. I let it warm up outside then drove it for a few miles. Aside from being very loud, it runs like it should.

I do get some bucking at lower rpms in 2nd and sometimes 1st. But it hasnt stalled yet.

Maybe it was just oil left behind in the pipes from the manufacturing process. My new Kooks had a lot of greasy **** inside them.

Don't forget to install the hardened pushrods. The stockers will wilt under the 918's pressure.

Yeah, I'm thinking it was something in the headers. The pushrods will go in as soon as I get the extra cash and my hands heal up, lol. The car isnt going anywhere anyway with no exhaust.

I just have to adjust the qtp ory so it tucks up on the driver's side more. There is about 3" above the pipe. I used to have a hooker y pipe on my last car and it didnt bang with less than an inch.
