408 with etp 255 heads
I am picking up my 408 with etp 255 heads in 2 weeks. It will have 12to1 comp,no power adder and a big hyd cam. My problem is I dont know what intake setup I should go with. I want all the power I can get out of this motor. I just dont have $3000 dollars on a sheet metal intake. My two choices I have so far is fast 90 or victor jr. Any input on these two intakes or any other setup that wont break the bank would be appreciated. Thanks

to do all the mods to get it on, would need alot more flow to justify the money(victor Jr). I might wait and see what ET comes up with for there heads. I did hear they where working on something!

whatever a vic jr setup is less than a fast 90/90 in the first place. the conversion is pretty simple. its a no-brainer.

The victor flows 380 cfm from what I heard. We did some dyno time on my buddies and works good. It is 400 for intake with rails, and another 200 for an elbow. Then you need to do a mount for the throttle cable, and mount the map sensor. The fuel lines will depend on what you already have. I think this is the highest flowing manifold, but we had to trim some hood and cowl to clearance for it.

200 is on the high side for an elbow. you can find them for 150 or less.
the vic jr kit COMES with the throttle cable and map sensor mounts. the only extra thing I had to buy was a $2 NPT fitting for the power brake booster.

WTF? I would hope the Vic Jr can feed the 408 w/o issues. Hell I am looking at one for my lil 347 w/ ETP 225's, oh yeah and a healthy 300 shot of nitrous
Want an intake that will flow beyond your needs, Sheetmetal or what about Harrop Hurricane (yeah its almost double the sheetmetal price).

You can make any fuel rails work, but you would need to custom make the brackets. My friend paid 175 + 20 shipping for an elbow that a buddy designed specifically for this car. NW 90mm was 350 and no port work needed. He made an extra 40 rwhp shift on the whole graph over the ls6. Car is responsive throughout the rpm range. I heard flow info from a couple machine shop guys. It's worked good so far and rpm peak has gone from 6300rpm to 7200 rpm rev limit. I don't think porting is necessary to make power with it.

How does it compare to the LSX 90mm intake flow wise? What does the 90 flow? Need to know if it`s worth the swap? Sounds like my TPIS 90mm TB will work, and maybe my fast fuel rails also. All I would need it a elbow and a intake ported out to match my heads!

my vic jr conversion did NOT change my peak hp, infact the curve barely changed at all.
