Default whos running/ran a cam with stock exhaust manifolds?

i know there has to be a few other people on here... especially you conversion guys with limited header availability...

anyone running a 224/228 114 cam, or something around there?
how much did the manifolds choke you down?

im running 02 manifolds, so they're really good for manifolds.. almost like shorty headers... but still.. i know id gain alot from longtubes... i just cant make myself drop $800 for the 3rdgen longtubes when im going to be ditching them for the turbo setup in the future..

i finally stabbed my cam in there... feels a good bit stronger, but it'll be more then a week until i can get to the track.

finding results for guys with longtubes is easy... finding results for guys with a cam and stock manifolds is alot harder... thoes that have done it, how'd it work out for ya?

i ran a cam w/stock manifolds for about 6-7 months before i installed headers. i picked up 30 rwhp and the car felt stronger up top. after putting the headers on i gained another 20 rwhp.

i am running that cam on a 115 lsa with just a lid and gutted cats and it dynoed 362 rwhp and 360 rwtq. It went 12.8 at 113 mph on street tires since then i have put long tubes on and a stall converter and the car is now a whole new animal. Although i dont have any new dnyo numbers there is difference in the seat of the pants meter lol.

I actually got more power out of adding the headers and exhaust to my h/c car than I did adding my h/c package to my stock exhaust

lol, i believe that. thats kind of the feeling i have... but i have other things in line before i should be dropping $$$ on headers. mostly a rollbar so i can still drive it as-is, and some other little things...

everyone, thanks for the input.. thats the impression i had, but i havent read anyones posts about it..
