Default Oil changing after head and cam swap???

Ill be putting in fresh oil and filter after my head and cam swap.

Should I change the oil again very soon after the initial oil change...or doesnt it matter?

I dont see what shavings/debris would be produced from heads. And the cam...well it doesnt seam like that should produce shavings.anything either. Im not sure on this...does anyone know for sure what should be done?

thanks, troy

If you still have the old oil in the car fire it up and let it run for a few min's then dump it. I would change the new oil/filter with in a couple hundred miles because you will have the new cam brakeing in and the new valve guides will wear alittle.

Damn...I already drained it. I guess ill do 2-300 easy miles on the new oil and then change it.

how does that sound?

That should be good you could even put in some cheap oil then drain it after it gets up to operating temp. If you didn't get to much gasket materal from scraping the block in there you'll be fine.
