First off, I really doubt you would see a random missfire code with a slightly bent push rod. However I have not had the stock ECU in my car for some time now, so I'm not really used to seeing any error codes.

As for changing/checking the pushrods, thats easy.

Hardest part is getting your valve cover off, after that you will need a 8mm socket and just a few minutes of time, take each lifter off one at a time, pull the push rod and check if its bent (rolling on glass surface works the best)

If you do have bent push rods, you should replace them with some TR hardened rods, they are cheap and work good.

Did you squeeze any nitrous into the motor yet? It could be a compression lost in one of your cylinders, you might wanna check pressure.

If you remove your rocker covers to paint them and couldn't find your pushrods you might want to stick to painting things and leave the wrench turning to someone else. If those rocker bolts have never been removed before you want to use a 3/8 drive breaker bar and a 6 point 8mm socket on a short extension to break the locktite. Give the breaker bar a hard quick snap to fracture the locktite while holding the tool straight and square over the fasteners. The rocker bolts are only 22 ft/lb, but it feels like it takes over a hundred to break the locktite loose. Once the locktite is cracked you should just about be able to unscrew the rocker bolts with your fingers.

some people just arn't mechanically minded. i have friend whos finishing his MECHANICAL (lol) engineering major at Texas A&M a year and a half early, but last weekend at the track he needed help changing his tires. it just doesn't make much sense to me that someone can be that booksmart but doesn't seem to realize that if the vavle on the jack isn't shut that the car wont go up. lol....
