Default hey newbie here to ls1

i owned two lt1's and now im interested in a getting a corvette, I was looking at the c5's and also the z06. a c5 either 99-01 and z06 02. I know the z is lilghter and has a different cam and intake manifold . Is there any other differences and also did any of the c5's like 2004 have any of these upgrades the 2002 z06 has or no. IM just tryirng to figure out if it is really worth getting the z over the c5 in the long run or is it just a couple things different between the two. thanks

this question belongs in the corvette forum (further down the main page) but ill help you out because im a nice guy.

corvettes 97-00 all had the LS1 with the LS1 intake manifold
in 01 the Z06 was created with the LS6 intake manifold, LS6 heads, and the LS6 cam. the regular corvettes at this point also got the LS6 manifold, but kept the same heads.

now im not sure but i do believe the z06 also has difference gearing ratios for some of the gears, and a stouter suspension.
