Question will this cam work for me? not the newb question ;)

After thinking more and more about my 1st 2 cams, I really liked my f10 over my f13. Well Im looking at getting something new. If the F13 turns out to be part of a bad batch, then Im going to get a custom grind. I need help with the .6 and .2 specs. Id like to reach about 8.5-8.7 DCR. Im thinking 228/228 110 +0 @.050 im not sure what the lift is going to be if Im using the cam motion grind, nor do I know what to even consider.
This would more or less be a stock cam only LS6 with PRC dual springs and 3.90 gears. I really want my power under the curve to jump way up! Im not too concerened about peak numbers as I have personally felt the difference and prefer the mid range power the f10 gave me, but I want more. Given the DCP desired, I want little overlap. I hope I can tune this thing
Your input please.

Your DCR is going to be influenced pretty heavily by your SCR. If you're running stock LS6 chamber size, you'll probably need to go a little smaller duration on the intake lobe to get your DCR above 8.50:1.

Since the LS6 heads make good flow numbers in the .650" range, you should consider Comp LSK or XFI lobes. Both are well above .600" for smaller durations. Take my cam for example, it's a 223/227 LSK lobe, but when it's put on the Cam Doctor, it actually measures 224/228. I considered going 228/228 110LSA, but to get more DCR, I chose to go with the 224 lobe on the intake. This also makes the overlap easy to live with. I can lug my motor down to 800-900 rpm in 6th gear no problem and it make abundant power right off idle. Considering my cranking compression is 245psi that should come as no surprise. Personally, I think you should take a hard look at the Comp LSK lobes. They're pretty awesome. Thunder Racing is now having bunches of cams made with them and they're doing great!

was it hard to tune at all? Will I have to shim my PRC springs?

This cam tune was so easy to tune, I've used most of my stock tables. Spark tables are very close to stock, idle tables are very close including throttle cracker and follower. The only tables that I spent considerable time on were the VE tables...but that's only because I'm still running without a MAF. My cold starts are superb now and I can really lug the motor down in gear. S-Trims are close to 0%. Love it. Piece of cake tune. Tons easier than the Thunder TRak cam. That bastard is like a mini T-Rex to tune.

As far as the springs, yes, you'll want to shim them to within .050" of coil bind. That's probably going to mean a 1.740" installed height, but be sure to check it with a spring height micrometer.
