Default rapid C3 cam vs. trex?

Hey, I am ready to purchase the Rapid C3 cam from another member on this board, will prolly be buying it tonite. The specs are 242/250 .578/.578 109 LSA. The guy said he used 1.8 rockers to up the lift to .612/.612 . Those numbers seem very close if not a tad bigger than those of the TREX, which was my original plan (either TREX or "TREX killer"). I'm just wondering if i would need to flycut my pistons with stock heads or if that will clear? also will i be satisfied with this cam over the TREX? It's not about dyno numbers it about the times. I already have a stall and full exhaust coming. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated

thanks!

i would say ditch both cams and do a custom grind. i was in the same boat you are, and after searching through 100s of off the shelf cams i decided that none of them were what i wanted.

^^^ how did u like the outcome? i was thinkin of going custom but i liked the proven results of the TREX. Either way i want something to put me in the general power/quickness range as the TREX and such sized cams do.

You're going to save cash on a used cam just to spend it on 1.8's and then hope it will get you the results you want? Then if it dosen't work out you have to start over again. In my mind it would make more sense to spend the money on the T-REX now and be done with it.
