Default Oil Pump Port Job Gone Wrong or Not?

I just ported the exit (inlet looked very smooth) on my stock 5.3l oil pump (to help my engine and tight budget) and I smoothed out all the ridges around the oil passage as i have seen in pics of other people's posts. While i had my Dremel grinding away carefully, i nicked the inner flat surface on the egde of the pump where the inner gear rides, it took a small notch of metal out of it but did not leave any ridges on the surface that would seem to scratch the inner gear. I am being very carefull building this motor as i do not want to take any risks in the assembly if it.

If i need a new pump any suggestions on an affordable one to get?

I still would like to port my own pump to save $, any good porting tricks?

Has anyone else messed up porting their own pump and what solutions did you choose?

just throw in an LS6 pump. Thoes can be had new for 60 bux. Or you can get the aftermarket melling pump for around 90 bux.

Can you get a pic to detail exactly what you mean? From the sound of it, no worries bro.
