Arrow Important Measurements when Building an Engine

I am in the middle of building my 427 and some of you may know. I ran into some problems with the rods rubbing against the pin bosses...

Anyways, today I got my hands on a bunch of measuring tools. I got 6 dial indicators, metric and standard, all sorts of ranges and divisions, and 4 micrometers. I already have a dial caliper. I was curious to what, if any, are some important dimensions/specs to measure while I have these tools at hand. The bearings clearances and the reluctor wheel runout have already been checked by the professionals, all are in spec. Today I checked the crank thrust and it came out to be just under .0035", perfect! I plan on checking the deck height too once I get the rods machined down and put back in. Is there anything else I should check? Thanks!

Go to Barnes and Noble and read a book on engine blueprinting. Will Handzel's book is pretty good too. They'll show you what to measure and techniques to use.
