Default Dart heads, No oil use issues.

I just thought I would post up that after 5000 miles with out of the box Dart heads my oil usage has actually dropped over the stock heads. I used to use about a Qt. every 3-4K miles. I'm now down to about a 1/2 a QT. in those miles.

The oiling issue wasn't with the out of box Darts, it was with the TSP CNC'd Darts. I don't think any of the out of box Darts have had any issues. Anyways, welcome to the forum! Are you running the Dart 205s or 225s? What are your other mods?

2004 GTO LS1 with Dart 205's, TR 224/224 114LSA, Kooks headers w/cats, Vig 2800 converter, stock catback and stock air box and filter. 12.69 @108 mph is my best with this combo. I'm happy with the Darts, lots of torque.

Don't forget the GTO is a good bit heavier than the F-bodys. The times are with Nitto DR's. Traction was not great when I ran those times, with decent track conditions I think I could get close to 12.5 if not break it. The car dynoed at 375/370 unlocked.

I havn't ran my car at the track yet, but ran my buddy who has a 88 camaro running 12.30's. From 60-100 I pulled him pretty good(about 2-3 lengths) so i know the dart heads are working good

I'm guessing the heads are unmilled?? I might've gone with a bit larger stall but other than that it sounds good! I'd like to see Dart start a CNC program of their own (not by a sponsor *cough cough*) to step up to the AFR/ETP and soon to be Trickflow reputation.

I didn't dyno the car stock but the average stock 04 GTO a4 is around 280-285 HP to the wheels.

The heads are unmilled. I concur with the larger stall but the car is a daily driver for my wife so I wanted to stay conservative. Life is full of compromises, especially when you're married.

I wish my wife would "compromise" and let me but her a LSx based vehicle. She likes her minivan.

No oil use here.

ThirdGenLS1, how did you remove the Dart springs and what did you do with them?

I used Tim's valve spring tool, and was very carefull not to scratch the valve at all.

I Still have everything i pulled off the head (spring, seat, retainer, seal) going to put them up for sale here pretty soon.
