Default Got head/cam specs. Gears or straight to 12 bolt

Hey all, I have my final cam specs matching my trick flow heads. Specs are 232/236 .581/.588 114LSA. With this cam I will need gears for the 6 speed. I just don't think the stock rear will hold up, based that I am on my 3rd stocker in my 94 with less power. Should I just do the gears, or go straight to the 12 bolt rear. I have the 12 bolt on order (on hold), but I am considering canceling and getting wheels/tires in the meantime. Should I wait a few weeks/months and skip 4.11's for now? I need to build up the suspension also, which I can do immediately or when the 12 bolt goes in, it doesn't matter. Thanks all

I think I might have put this thread in the wrong forum, if so can a mod move it?

I'm also in the market for a new rear and i'm going with a DLS 9" over a 12 bolt. Scott @ DLS builds quiet as 10 bolt 9"'s for the same price as a noisy whiny 12 bolt. It's also stronger. The only downside is it's a tad heavier than the 12 bolt and has more parasitic drivetrain loss. But being able to have a quiet bulletproof rear outweighs all the negatives IMO. That cam will really like lower 4.10 gearing and should be a rocket with your heads and F90. Having a H/C setup on the stock rear blows. Just look at my ETs.

Get 4.10s and have the rear rebuilt with HD clutch packs. contact DTE for options.

BTW, good job on matching the cam with your head flow instead of just picking a cam because its big. You will have a killer setup like mine!

Alright, the general consensus is definately do the rear, I will look into that 9". Noisy 12 bolts shouldn't bother me, I doubt I would hear it over the drone of a no cat GMMG with heads/cam. I'm def from Death Metal anyway.
