stock crank, can it really hold its own
I been looking to build a turbo motor for some time and now i have the money to start it. after reading on here many members running stock cranks with some killer number hittin 1000+ would i really be ok to run a stock crank n a iron block turbo motor trying to run some low 9's hi 8's? as i talked to finish line performance they say they don NOT recommend me run a stock crank. If i can save money by running a stock crank then i would like to but i dont wanna cut my self short and blow a motor up because of a stock crank. I guess my question is what is the chances of a stock crank failure in a hi hp turbo motor. or is it just a peace of mind having a good crank?

lots of folks using the stock crank in 1000ish rwhp setups, no reason not to use it, I would if I was building a 370 or 364 FI engine. I have never heard of one breaking, does not mean it hasn't happened, but the stock crank has proven itself time and again. go for it.

I think the stock crank would give or bust due too some sort of other failure like busting a rod or loosing a piston, pistons hitting the valves, Your playing with 800-1500 hp there isnt too much reliability, the only insurance is too buy the supporting compenents. I havent read or heard of a stock crank breaking either. but that doesnt mean it cant happen
