Default Oil Question

I have a 2002 WS6, with 18,000 mi., cam, LT's, duals...etc., have been using the german Castrol 0w-30 as patman recomended a while back... and have been noticeing that between oil changes is uses 1/2 a quart or so...is this normal for a engain with this mileage?
...Also have a buddy who says that Amsoil is the best oil out there...

any comments?

Many LS1s use oil right from the factory. With low milage, youre probably not burning oil past the rings, although this does happpen from ring flutter during mid-high rpm and low load driving. The usual culprit is the PCV system. This is why catch cans and the LS6 PCV conversion are such poplar mods.

What he said. Do a search on PCV and catch cans and you will get all the answeres you need. 1/2 quart between changes is not bad at all.
