When I took my rocker arm pedestals out, I laid them out exactly as they were in the heads, or so I thought. I did the same thing during my cam swap last September. This time, however, I noticed that the little tabs on either end aren't really symmetrical with each other (if that makes sense). Based on the tabs' positions, Is there a correct way to place the pedestal in the head??? They're OEM.


I drew a picture with different orientations to help you understand wtf I'm talking about.




I can't really tell a difference and there doesn't seem to be any clearance issue, so does it really matter? If not, I'll just orient them such that the writing is face up. #1 is how they came out.

I think theyll work in either direction.

#2 and #3 arent even possible unless you have them turned over b/c both pedestals are made exactly the same way and when you turn them around they still end up like #1. the writing has to be facing the valve cover or it might sit weird but as long as that is the case, it doesnt matter if the writing is upside down or right side up, the pedestals are the same either way.
