Default Ls1 head choices

I're researched heads cam packages for a late model Ls1 build and can't decide on which heads to go with. I have considered Ls6 ported, out of the box Dart 205s and the AFR 205s. Will likely use a 224/228 581, with 114 LSA.

How much less power(peak and under the curve) would the ported LS6ers @ around $1000 produce vs. the AFR 205s @about $2,200. Will also be using LTs and and intake. This is to be worked on an 02 C5 coupe.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks. Scott.

The AFR 's are really good, but pricy. I have been hearing really good things about the 200cc Terminator Heads from TSP. They put out some really good numbers. It just depends on how much you want to spend. Thats the BIG questions. Then it will be a little easier to answer. Also, are you doing the install, or paying for it to be done. Thats more money. Hope this helped a little.

I'm doing the install with a buddy.

Not familiar with the 200 Terminator heads. Are they comparable to the as cast Darts?

AFR is top top top dog for most people right of the shelf.....
Maybe LS6 heads will work fine for you.
I am sure you can find dynos of before and after AFR 205, vs LS6, LS1 heads.
Depends on ultimate goal of the motor....

ETP's are the GOD of LS1 Heads! OUT OF THE BOX...

No need to mill like AFR's for higher CR... Mine came with a 58cc chamber...

I have the AFR's with a similar cam(228/230 112, .588/.590) Both my tq and hp curve are very flat. The hp curve was still gaining when I hit the rev limmiter.

Thanks guys, appreciate the help and advice.

I guess 420 rwhp is possible with the TSP(or similar) ported LS6 heads with the right cam, intake and LTs.

TSP did 550 crank HP last week on their Stage 1 LS6 heads with the MS4.

So Id say that you are way safe with 420RWHP with that setup

Holy crap! 550 crank is like 470 whp. Those heads must be better than what I have been reading and hearing. MS4 cam, I guess that is pretty aggressive.

Could a set of ported LS6 Heads, 224/228, 581/588 @ 114, LTs, and a good intake on an 02 Corvette Coupe hit around 420 rwhp with a decent amount of TQ?

Looking at the flow numbers on the ported LS6 heads they are comparable to 200cc Terminator #s. With the same spring package the LS6 is $1250 and the Terminators are $1900. I dont see the runner or chamber size on the LS6 heads but assume ther are similar. What is better about the Terminators?
