Seats for 918 springs
If changing from the PRC dual springs that come with AFR 205s to comp 918s and milder cam setup, would you just use the PRC seats and leave the seals alone, or get the original shims from GM and would that require seal replacement? I don't see a listing for 918 spring seats from comp. Did multiple searches but can't find an answer.

I would recommend the same thing, but contact Tony Mamo and check to see if they will fit. Best of both worlds if they do. Also, I think to get the seats off the heads now you will have to remove the seals anyhow so you are likely looking at a replacement. The newer design seat/seal is almost the same price as the older seal only.

I agree, I believe there is a difference from the older LS1 seals to the new. I also agree in talking to Tony, because the AFR's may have a taller deck height, and this may affect the one piece seal.

If it were me, I'd leave the seats already on the heads and install the 918's. I don't see how this would have any negative effects, on the contrary you would have a stronger seat for a weaker spring.

Thanks all. Spoke to Tony. The valve guides on the 205s are different from stock so the GM seats & seals are not possible. I'll check whether the 918s will fit the existing seats, if not, plan B - leave the springs alone and proceed.
