Default TSP Torquer V.2 vs. TSP 233/239 R2??? Which is better!

I know you all hate these x vs. y threads, but I always do research before buying. I am looking at the TSP Torquer V.2 cam and the TSP 233/239 cam. My supporting mods are in the sig. The only requirement I have for whichever cam I pick is that I want it on a 114 LSA because i want it to idle smooth, but based on that, what would I be losing with a higher LSA, doesnt it just shift the power band? Also, i have 918's, are those good to the .603 lift on those cams? thanks a bunch!!

i thought that the 918's were only rated to .600 with .603 i think you might be pushing it a little bit but as to your cam i think i would go with the 233/239. wider LSA increases P/V clearance, extends power band on a broader scale, brings peak TQ to a lower RPM but with the wider LSA you also lose a little off of both of your peak numbers. i assume by your sig you say you have a textralia clutch so you are a manual so no need to worry about stall.

From my understanding the 918s used to be rated at .615 or so but then they lowered the rating as not to compete with the 921s. I think quite a few people still use them with shimming ect.. so its just up to you. Me personally would rather not take the chance of going with springs barely adaquate. Hopfully someone with more knowledge on shimming the 918s will chim in...

Get You a set of Crane 144832's. Double Springs good to .650. I personally run the Torquer V2 but prefer mine on a 112. Damn good cam!

You can run the 918's up to .625. They were underrated by comp so they could sell more 921's. With the xer lobes this big, id go with a gold dual kit. Theyre cheap enough.

As for the cam, the T2 will be sllightly more tame and more streetable, but it will still have a good lump to it, especially with a loud exhaust. The 233/239 will need to be wound up a little higher. I have the T2 and i have my rev limit at 6800. With the 233/239, id bump that up to 7000. IMO, the T2 is the most agressive of the mid range daily drivable cams. IMO the 233/239 is at the lower end of the big 'ol donkey dick cams. Thats not to say people dont daily drive the 233/239 or larger cams, but they probably are more tolerant of driving a bigger cam. You have the choice between the big fish in the little pond, or the little fish in the big pond.

I'm running the 233/239 with the setup and #s in my sig...

As mentioned, I'd go with dual springs (PRC duals for me)...

233/239 does make good power up high...my dyno rolled off at about 6600 I believe...and the car is a semi-DD...250-350 miles/week...the cam isn't that hard to get used to...
