Default Can a cam have to much wear??

Ok heres my ? i am about to buy a cam from a memeber on the board. nothting against him at all, But i had a friedn look at the pix he sent and he said its just to much wear for him. i figure its a cam! can you acually wear down a cam that much? i have never herd of a cam getting worn down..

the specs are 224 224 .581 114 LSA

How many miles on it? Mine looked somewhat like that and didn't have many miles on it. I bought the car that way and had some other problems, but I'm not going to re-use mine. You might be able to polish it, but I wouldn't pay the average used cam price on something in that condidtion. Seems like something wasn't running correct as far as pushrod length or spring seat pressure.

Anybody else have cams come out looking like the above cam?

he said about 30k miles on the cam... he said 225 shipped.. gtreat price but the wear is scaring me..

with that many miles, 150 would be a good price.

A cam CAN have too much wear. I would not buy it. A lobe can be almost completly rounded off and cause misfires. I would stick with buying a new cam that way you would have no doubt's on the reliabilty.
