Thumbs up 5.7 liter v8 engine

i just purchased a 1987 pontiac firebird with the 5.7 liter v8 corvette engine in it, where is the fuel pump and how do i change it.

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank, to replace the pump you have to pull the fuel tank... I would check to make sure its not a blown fuse or a bad ground first, also check the fuel filter to make sure its not blocked...

Don't you have to drop the rear end on the 3rd gens to get the gas tank out? I can't remember.

Was the car originally carbureted or fuel injected? I like external pumps personally, my ta is the first with an in-tank pump.
