Thumbs up Just put 50 miles on the MS4 cam/Rod bolts/K-member/motor mounts/Torque Arm :)

I didn't expect the cam to be THAT much meaner sounding than the MS3 . . . but DAYUM!!! Because I'm running 2 mufflers in series the interior noise didn't increase by much at all . . . but the outside note is just WICKED

Right after my mechanic started it up for the first time he called me right away to tell me it sounded like an old-school Big Block idling

I noticed a big difference in the part-throttle driving. A lot more low-end torque By the butt-o-meter I'd say it pulls a good 15-25 more ponies from 1300-3000 rpm's at part-throttle over the MS3. That's REEEEALLY NICE

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the MS3 tune I had running perfect actually worked almost spot-on for the MS4.

I might have to tweak one table in the idle and that would be it.

I haven't gone WOT yet but I'll report back once I get the alignment done and my lugs from Jegs (ARP wheel studs needed some special long tapered lugs that NOONE in South Florida carries ).

After I do a full tweak on the part-throttle and WOT, I'll dyno my set-up and post the motor numbers

The poly-eurethane motor mounts are rock solid. They increased interior vibration substantially but I happen to like it.

UMI'S K-member, Torque-Arm, and Driveshaft Loop are TOP quality pieces . . . the red undercarriage looks pretty sweet too

Thank you!!!

You wanna talk about poor . . . my Woman wants Heads, Cam, and full bolt-ons on the Red WS6 and we'll probably put Turbos on the Silver WS6

When people say it never ends . . . they're understating things

Lightbulb

I'm running Manley Valves with PP .650 lift dual springs.

I've been running the same Thunder Racing hardened pushrods for over 60K miles.

My Thunder pushrods have been through 4 cams and 2 motors.

Cold-start, hot-start, ANY-start is BETTER than the MS3 cam . . . which was a pleasant surprise

Do you have to have the pistons fly cut to run this cam?

you do have a stroker motor, right? otherwise your shortblock won't like the texas giant.

ah, that will be a good cam for an ls2. as long as you have more cubes than 346 with that cam!

Fly-cutting is not necessary if one has stock heads, TSP Stage I LS6 heads, or un-milled ported heads.

My impressions UPDATE:

The MS4 shifts more violently than the MS3 did . . . I like dat

I know I said it before but that whistle of the intake is sweeeeeeeeeeet

I think fly-cutting is required for those heads with the MS4 cam.

Ask John, Jason, Zack etc. from TSP to verify.

That's a matter of opinion. Research people who have installed this cam in their various set-ups and get their impressions.

As I've stated numerous times in this thread and others like it, the MS4 acts better, is easier to idle, and makes more torque through the entire rpm than the MS3 did; remember, I've had both cams now (including the 231/237 )
