Default dart 205 guys in here >>>>>

I was wondering if you need to fly cut your pistons to run these heads on a stock 02 LS1. With the 62cc head what is the compression and is it pump gas friendly??. And finally is the 90/90 intake a must over the LS6 intake.

All info is appreciated

No flycutting required with a stock cam. I'm running the Dart 205's with a GM head gasket P/N 12589227 (4.039 bore, .052 compressed thickness) which gives me 10.95 compression ratio. My DCR is 8.678 and I run 93 octane Mobil without issues. You won't be able to get by with these heads and a stock cam. Your DCR will be WAY too high and it'll give you some major tuning headaches. You'd have too crutch it with a thicker head gasket and you'd lose too much quench, which in turn would make it more prone to detonation. I don't know the seat to seat timing specs for a stock '02 cam , if I did I could be a little more specific on how much too high your DCR would be. Most people shoot for a DCR of about 8.5 or so for a street engine on pump gas. As far as the intake is concerned, you don't have to have a 90/90 to run these heads, especiaaly with a stock camshaft.
On a different note, I see you've run at GIR before. Did you recently move from St.Louis to Alabama?? (I live in St.Louis)

I am sorry about that lol, but good info what I was trying to ask is can the heads be ran with the stock bottom end and a different cam. Something a littler bigger that say a hot cam. I know this is sort broad, but i am looking to see what I can do with the stock stuff. If I have to fly cut the pistons then I will hold off until I build a new bottom end.

As far as gateway, it’s been about 3yr ago that I was there last. But there were two others guys I knew that had 93s. They were running mid 12s. It may have been me. My car is red, hardtop had eagle wheels.

I am running the Dart 205s on my Z06. They were milled a little to bump compression. Running a F14 cam (232/234) with .600 lift on each side and it did not require any flycutting.

Default thanks

Thanks guys, I would really hate to have to fly cut stock pistons. It looks like these heads have a TON of potential for future uses.

It would still be a good idea to check them though.
