Default New cam time again!

Would like to get some thoughts about a good drag only cam.

I’m not worried about low end torque, I would like something that rips through the mid range and top end. I’m not necessarily a believer in the bigger is better when it comes to cams but would certainly run a big cam if it is better. I already have a Trex on the shelf but don’t know if I want to put it back in. When the car was an M6, I managed to put down 462/425 with a small 230/234-114 cam and an 11.7 @ 120 mph 1.75 60’. This was on a +2600’ DA 92* day.

So any thoughts what cam would be fitting for drag only cam? Mods are in sig. I have 11.0 CR and would like to keep peak torque in the 4600-4700 range to match the 4800 stall better.

alot of fast stock cube cars run the trex so you may allready have the cam you need.i have no idea where the trex peak tq is,i'd guess between 5000-5300 so your 60' may drop alittle but peak hp should more than make up for it.i have never had a trex so i'm just going by what i've researched.

i would suggest something like 242/250 on a 109+0 with 635/640 lift - lsk lobes. go big or go home.

The Trex is still a definate consideration, especially since I already own one. It reached peak at 4700 RPM as well when the car was still in it's original A4 form and went 11.4 @ 119mph-1.64 60'.

Any data or results on that 242/250?

I need to consider DCR with your cam opinions, so if you know the ball park range I would really appreciate it.

Thanks for your inputs!

I like the G5X4 as well. Even though LG doesn't tell the specs on the cam it always puts out good track and dyno numbers.

Yeah but I might as well do the Trex then, there probably to close (dyno and track) to worry about buying a new cam over.
