Default Should i buy

The cam I am thinking about buying is for my bolton 98 ls1. It has stock heads. The specs are of the cam are 235/240 .598/.603 on a 112 LSA. What kind of numbers should i expect on the dyno. How do you think this cam will sound at idle? Is this a custom cam or is it one of TSP's normal cams.

I would call a sponsor like tsp or ls1speed and ask them if that cam will work in your car, or better yet tell them what your trying to do with your car, and they will recommend a cam that will work, when doin a cam you need to match it with springs etc... our stock ones I think are only good to maybe .550 lift do your research before jumping into it, like i learned the hard way bigger isnt always better, a nice tsp 224r cam on a 112 might do the trick and put you close to 380hp at the rear with good supporting mods might be 400hp, and with it being a 98 the heads are said to be not that good might wanna change those as well. the cam you mentioned is actually a cam that tsp makes its one step above mine.

That is a nice street cam.. Although anything is streetable if I were driving it. :-)

Might even be good for a nice 400hp cam-only car. 112 LSA will be a little choppy. Do you have a goal in mind? What are you aiming for?

The goal i am aiming for is 380 or higher RWHP. I have done a good bit of research and it has left me with these questions. What springs would be a good match for this cam and would some chromoly hardened pushrods do the trick as well? When you say a little choppy do you mean that in a sarcastic sense like it will be very choppy or do you mean it will be just a little choppy. B/c i do want something that is quite choppy

I've tuned a bunch of cars that made over 380 RWHP with cams like a TR224 along with supporting mods.

That cam would be sluggish in the bottom with stock compression. That is the Tx Giant, better suited for max effort or small strokers.
If you want big, look at MS4 or Tq3, they would ddo better on low end for street driving, (with supporting mods of course)
