Felpro 1041 head gaskets
I just bolted my heads on using Felpro 1041 gaskets. But I'm questioning if these gaskets will work? I don't see much info in search. I have a 99 which has 853 heads that have been millied .030 and ported by MTI. I have .030 shims for the rockers. I run a 7.400 push rod. Are these the correct gaskets for a stock bore? Will they leak with a 853 head? Will they throw my rocker geometry off?
Cam is a 224/224 581 lift any PTV clearance issues with these gaskets?
Thanks
Dan

The Felpro 1041 will work but I would go with a gasket with a better match to the bore and chamber size.....assuming the chamber is 3.900 or smaller just use a Cometic with the proper gasket thickness to achieve .032-.037 piston to head....usually that means an .040 thou gasket. We sell them under AFR PN 6846 for about $150 a pair, and Im sure they are available elsewhere possibly closer to where you live. That is an AFR PN btw so dont ask anyone else for that number.
If the chambers are larger than 3.900 and smaller than the 1041 Felpro's than just go with them (they are also .040 thick btw).
Hope this helps...

I used them on my recent H/C install. I had a leak problem so I called the felpro tech line. They told me they need re-torqued 3, yes 3 times. I thought they were the regular permatorque types. Just heat cycle, cool overnight, retorque, heat cycle, cool overnight, retorque. Otherwise, no warranty against leakage.
