Default Help! Engine noise...

I have a 99 Formula M6 with 62k on it. I've only had it for a month, and last week it started making a tapping noise. I read all the threads about piston slap, but it doesn't sound like that. Mine is a tick that is always there and rises/falls with the rpm's. It doesn't really get louder or quieter, but it stays there, I also seem to have a drop in engine power as well...Any ideas? Someone give me some advice!

i have the same noise in my a-4 Firehawk. Been making the noise for three years. I have not noticed any power loss though-maybe the noise is making you think it is weaker. I though that it could be a lifter, however I have had a big cam in the car for a couple of months now and no problems. I think that with an aluminum block and heads these motors will make noises like that just because of noise transfer.

you likely have some bent pushrods.
