Default Daily Driven Cam?

Dont mean to annoy you guys with a question that has probably been asked 1000s of times but search is down still.

This cam will be a daily driven cam, I do not want to lose any driveability being that it is my only car. I will have full bolt-ons, matched stall, and the cnc ported ls6 heads from tsp at the time of the intsall. Also I dont want to raise my rpms past 6300 or 6400 rpms. I have been hearing that stock 4l60e's dont like anything past 6000 rpms. I am just looking for more power under the curve without raising rpms much.

Will diablo sport work with heads and a mild cam or do i need hptuners

Well, you can't go wrong with a 224 cam. I'm sure that's what 90% of the responses will say. Also, I don't know anything about the Diablo, but you definitely will want a tune with an A4.

What rpms are you running that cam to. like I said before, I dont want to raise the rpms too much with a stock a4. And how much power can I expect out of a 224 cam and the ported ls6 heads?

What kind (specs?) of valve springs would you be running?

I was going to be running the stock set up, whatever it comes with. If it is worth it I will spend a little more and get 918 springs and the competition valves. i am not sure what the stock set up can handle.

Itsn't that more of a nitrous/boost cam, Seems like it would be almost identical to a 224 if not boosting. Definately better for a power adder. I would definately change the valve springs, 918's are an easy swap (stock behive design) the stock springs cannot handle that lift, and you can use your stock retainers. I would also swap the push rods and check the rocker arms. If you want to run dual valve springs you will need to buy new spring seats.

You are really asking for trouble if you run stock springs with that cam. The stock springs can barely hand the stock cam. Break a spring and drop a valve...$$$$. 918s are good springs. They're good up to a .650 lift. But like any springs with an aftermarket cam, you should check them out maybe every 12-15,000 miles.

Also, if you want to install something else at the same time, IMO titanium retainers would be a better investment than valves. But that's just my .02.
