Default Thank God....Did I dodge a bullet?

I was worried about my head gaskets, because I had .040 Cometics, which are great, but I also have a stock bottom end, 234/242 cam, and 853 heads. I read how some of the 99 heads had the notch, that can cause a leak with newer gaskets, and didn't know if I had the notch in mine. I had the heads off for a while but didn't have a chance to look until today, and guess what? That notch was there. I'm getting LS6 heads now, since I got mine pulled off, and stock gaskets. My question is, did I dodge a bullet by not running the notched 853's with Cometics?

Why an insane split on the cam? You have a retarded amount of nitrous?

Not yet... , but it might be in the future. I just liked the way my old G5X2 performed and that had an 8 degree split, and it seems that a lot of the best performing cams have wide splits (G5X4, T-Rex...record holders). I can't go too overboard with spray in my ride because i still have a stock bottom end anway.

That's not the trend when you look at duration at numbers OTHER than .050" lift.

Have you ever read up on how well the 230/224 TR cam performs?

Worst thing that would have happened is that it leaks all over your headers and the engine bay smokes like mad. it would be pretty evident.

Not the trend? I'm not following you here. What about the TR230, not a good cam for what I want, doesn't make as much horsepower and also not a great spray cam. What's your point about numbers OTHER than .050" lift, like I don't realize there's more to a cam?
