Default Aftermarket Alternative for GM 12378190 Sealant?

I can't find anthing that tells what might work for the GM Part Number 12378190 sealant. I find all kinds of instructions about using that or "like compound" when installing an oil pan on the LS1.

Permatex has no cross references. It looks like their Anaerobic Flange Sealant woudl be what I woudl need.

The GM stuff is $25. I hate to pay such rediculous prices, but I want to use the right thing.

Any thoughts?

Thanks. I was looking at the Permatex Anerobic sealant thinking that may be what I need. But in all the descriptions of what to use, I could only find a GM part number. couldn't find anything saying it was Anerobic. I want to be sure to use the right thing.

anerobic sealant can be used where most rtv are specified but you can use rtv where anerobic sealant is specified
