Default 11 deg split?

Do any of you guys have a cam with an ll degree split? This is intended for nitrous use. Also how do big splits perform just for cruising around?

Street manners depend heavily on total overlap of your cam and how well it's tuned. The best driving cam I've ever experienced in an F-body was the Thunder Racing CheaTR cam.

215/230 .600/.578 117LSA.

While this cam has 15 degrees of split, it has superb street manners and is one of the better nitrous cams around. Keys to working well on nitrous are early exhaust valve opening, generous exhaust duration, short overlap, and intake valve closing point conducive to high revs.

A 235/246 .649/.612 112LSA +4 would also be a good nitrous cam, but it has 66 degrees of overlap at .006" compared to the CheaTR cam with only 45 degrees at .006". 21 degrees of additional overlap will be a little more challenging to tune.

This is a custom grind that fms is doing for me. I did not specify anything. I told him what I had and he went to work on it.
