Default What year block do I have??

Well, as it turns out, I have 241 heads on my 9/97 camaro I bought. How do I find out what block I have?

uhm, Camaro built in 9/97 with 241 heads (which did not come out until 00-01?), so, makes me wonder what kind of engine block I have?

What more info do you need?

So what your saying is you have a 98 camaro with 241. one, they swaped the heads or too they swaped the motor.

exactly!!! I am trying to find out if the motor came with the heads or it is still the original motor with swapped heads? So, I need to find out what year the block is, or, where it came from. The blocks do have markings on them some where, dont they?

The only way you'll really now what year block is to look @ the P/N for it. Should be stamped somewhere near the rear seal. I think top left? I'm sure someone knows for sure.

Didn't say it was going to be easy, but it's the only way I know to be sure.

Correct ZSpot, driver side right underneath the head. As far as I know it's the only way to know for sure, I remember reading somewhere people have held a mirror back there to find the part number (although looks to be damn near impossible from what I saw when I took this pic) Oh, and if its that P/N its an LS6 block.

Also behind the timing cover there is a stamp that will say 98, 99...ect and that is a good indication.
